Two More Weekends of “Forum”

Thursday, June 18th, 2009

I can’t remember having a better time on stage. For the past three weeks I have played Hysterium in “A Funny Thing Happened On the Way To the Forum.”

Forum Show

Yes, I did play Mercutio a couple years ago — and that was hands down my best performance, if I do say so myself. However, this “Forum” is just plain, flat-out fun! Also, ever since I was a kid, I’ve been envious of people who can sing and dance. Now, I won’t say that I can sing and dance well — however, I do a bit of choreography and a bit of singing in this show… and it’s not horrible for musical-comedy standards.

So, for the next two weekends, I get to play in the comical world of Sondheim’s “Forum.” If you live nearby and you’d like to experience a hilarious night of theater, there are tickets still available. Visit the Canyon Theatre Guild Website.

The Death and Birth of a Blog

Thursday, June 18th, 2009

Well, something strange and sad has happened to the original Wade Bradford blog. I can’t post anything else on it. I’ve tried to fix it, but it’s just become this static entity. I can’t add a blog post, nor can I edit or change existing blogs.

This is probably because the blog was built in a relatively ancient version of WordPress.

Oh well, if you’d like to read archives from my earlier blog (and I don’t know why you’d bother) you can follow this link…

So, I’ve decided to continue on my blogging with this particular blog. It used to be called “Magnificent Failures.” This blog was intended to be a place where I would whine about my many literary failures. Or, if not failures, they were projects that I’ve been tinkering with for far too many years. However, a couple things have happened to prevent that blog from blooming.

I just didn’t spend much time working on it. There’s an interesting post — the first one — about one of my first stories when I was a kid. But after that, I didn’t do much with the idea. And then, about six months ago, I discovered a very amusing (and popular website) that’s all about failure. So, my thunder was somewhat stolen.

Anyway, I plan to be blogging from this web address — at least for a spell. I’ve been living a bachelor’s life this week, since the wife and kids are out of town. That means I’ve got a few days to write plays, tinker with blogs, and brainstorm the next great American novel. (Or at least the next great picture book!)
