Bobo and Me

Tuesday, February 28th, 2012

See, here’s the problem with being productive and responsible. I spent all morning teaching, I returned home and cleaned out the animal cages (rats and bunny), and then a diligently graded papers. I wanted to get all the “important stuff” out of the way so that when I was finished I could work on my creative, fun stuff with a clear conscious. Well, now it’s 9 o’clock and I’m too tired to do anything fun and artistic. Therefore, I really should have done the fun stuff first. That would have kept me wide awake until midnight, then in a rush of adrenaline and guilt I probably would have graded a bunch of papers before bed.

Procrastination can work wonders.

Anyway, instead of working on CAMP OMIGOSH, I am going to post a picture of me and Bobo, the chimpanzee puppet who co-starred with my in the Canyon Theatre Guild’s recent production of “The Little Princess.”

Happy Birthday “Make My Bed”!

Tuesday, February 21st, 2012

Our little picture book, maybe by me, artist Johanna van der Sterre, and editor Abigail Samoun is turning one-year-old tomorrow.

Hard to believe that this little guy has been in the book store for 365 days already. My how time flies. Keep your fingers cross that he gets a baby brother before the end of 2012.

I lost this blog for a little bit… but I think it’s back online. This post will test that theory. Cross your fingers.

I am looking forward to this years Oscars. However, I do have a few problems with some of this years nominees for Best Supporting Actor.

Feel free to spread these around the internet.

Lord of the Memes

Friday, February 10th, 2012

I am officially jumping on the meme trending train. Just like millions of others I am grabbing photos and trying to be amusing. Here is my first attempt, inspired by my year long attachment to a certain birthday present of mine.

Welcome

If you are reading this blog entry, there is a good chance you are visiting this website via an ipad, iphone, or some other gadget that doesn’t recognize FLASH animation. That means you missed out on my awesomely designed, super-cool-informative maze of flash-developed website stuff. But don’t worry — I’ve got you covered with my blog.

Here are the basics about me. I write plays and books for children. I also teach at Moorpark College. I have been happily married to my best friend Cheri for over sixteen years. We have two wonderful daughters, two annoying yet lovable dogs, two mischievous yet endearing pet rats, and a bunny… We’re still figuring out the bunny’s personality. Check out some of these links if you’d like to know more about me:
