STAGECRAFT: THE VIDEO GAME
Finally, there’s a video game about life in the theatre! And here’s the best part, the game plays out live, onstage! Katie is in an all-too-familiar predicament. She’s running auditions for the school play and — surprise, surprise! — she needs more guys. Her cousin Matt, who is obsessed with video games, isn’t interested in helping her out. He’s got levels to pass and villains to conquer. She strikes a deal with him. He has to be in the play unless he can beat the new, never-before-seen video game she’s brought along with her. Learn more about Wade's latest one-act comedy.
THE ACTOR GAMES:
In this dystopian/Hunger Games parody everyone is starving...for attention! Society's obsession with all things drama has become so distracting, the Capitol has outlawed all auditions and has divided the population into ten districts: Greek Tragedy, Shakespeare Drama, Commedia Dell'Arte, and others.
During the annual Actor Games, a tribute from each district competes to become a star. The losers must suffer the fate of the Fallback Wheel. This year, Meryl hopes to become the first ever winner from High School Drama. Unfortunately, the odds are never in her favor. This hit comedy is dazzling schools and theaters across the globe. Scripts available at Eldridge Plays.
Conflict, Genre, Character, Irony, Symbolism. In theory, if all of these literary elements came together in perfect harmony, you would have "The Greatest Play Ever Written." An ambitious narrator attempts to do just that in nine hilarious scenes. When a Critic in the audience becomes bored, she threatens to give the play a negative review, unless of course the playwright agrees to revise the play... and kill the narrator!
CSI meets Neverland in this marvelous merger of comedic mayhem. Murk and Tinker, Fairy Forensics Officers, are investigating the mysterious murder of Peter's shadow. Their prime suspect is Head Librarian Brenda Brooks who despises fantasy books. The fairies whisk her away for questioning and throw her in a lineup with the infamous Captain. "CSI: Neverland!"
